The symposium on "Bilingualism and Bilingual Education in Latin America" took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina on
1, 2, 3 April 2004 at ESSARP (English Speaking Scholastic Association of the River Plate) & Universidad San Andrés in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The symposium aimed to promote an exchange of knowledge in the fields of research and teaching on bilingualism and bilingual education among those who work in majority and minority language contexts in Latin America.

Spanish and English were the official languages of the Symposium.
