"Transforming Education for the New Era"                                                                                               9.15. - Saturday, 5th September 2009.

The demands of educating our youth with the skills to be successful in the global community of the 21st century paired with a climate of increasing educational accountability causes many educators to feel overwhelmed. As a result, leaders in education are struggling to prepare themselves and their colleagues with the knowledge and structures necessary to rethink teaching and leadership practices, to elevate expectations for learning, and to construct accurate and meaningful assessment protocols. This interactive session is designed to engage participants in an informed conversation that explores new models for transforming education by addressing critical changes in teaching, leading, and learning.

"Adult Actions That Lead to Student Results: An Inquiry-Based Conversation"                                     15.10. - Saturday, 5th September 2009.

This learning session provides the opportunity for educators to join in a conversation about adult actions that lead to student success. The dialogue is designed to encourage educators to reflect on answers to the following questions:

- What are the components of effective adult actions that lead to greater student success?

- How can schools ensure deep implementation of school-wide strategies?

- How do grade level and content area teams support overall school improvement?

- How can educators most effectively document and communicate successful strategies?

"The Key to Effective Schools: Planning, Implementation and Monitoring (PIMTM)"                                 10.45. - Sunday, 6th September 2009.

This informative workshop includes up-to-date research conducted by The Leadership and Learning Center on the highly successful PIMTM process. Schools spend thousands of hours developing and implementing improvement plans with the aspiration of enhancing student learning only to be disappointed when their students do not achieve the targeted goals. By concentrating on the components of the PIMTM process, participants will discover how focused, data-based planning; deep implementation of research-based strategies; and frequent, precise monitoring of results indicators will ensure superior learning outcomes.
