The aim and challenging guide for the discussion of these books will be to reflect on this observation by Anthony Burgess:
"A good literary novel must leave in the reader's mind a sort of philosophical residue. A view of life that has been indirectly propounded that seems new, even surprising".

Very important!!!!
As it would be ideal to be able to develop this short course with a high degree of participation, a previous reading of the material is required. (Books available at Kel's)
A suggested reading guide would include the following points:
- Read a long chunk every time you sit down to read.
- Jot down whatever feelings are produced in you as you read.
- Try to mark/write down the words the meaning of which you are not sure about and look them up; don't fail to dispel the doubt.
- Devise a kind of chart where you can register:
- Setting (time and place)
- Plot
- Characters
- Point of View
- Choice of words
- Theme/s
- After you've read the piece, look at the title again and connect it with the theme/s that have been apparent to you.
