Luciana Fernández
Luciana Fernández is a graduate teacher of English who has been teaching English for the past seventeen years. She has specialized in Methodology and Teaching Practice and she is working on her final thesis for her Licenciatura en Inglés (Universidad Nacional del Litoral). At present she is doing her Diploma in Educational Research for the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education. She is the Head of Foreign Languages at Southern International School and she is a teacher educator. She has designed several courses for professional development and she has given several presentations.
Kindergarten, lower primary teachers and teacher trainers.
When attending the course, teachers will:
- Get acquainted with basic knowledge about CBI and CLIL. - Learn about the teaching of content through language. - Handle specific terminology and appropriate materials for the different content areas. - Assess the different content areas using different assessment tools. - Put both activities and resources into practice. - Reflect upon their practice.
- Language through Literature: Literary analysis, Literature circles, Reading comprehension, storytelling.
- English language teaching: Grammar, vocabulary, the four macro skills. - Social Sciences through Language: Contents and Curriculum for Kindergarten and the lower forms. - Science through Language: the hands-on approach. Contents and curriculum for Kindergarten and the lower forms. - The arts through Language: music, craft, drama. - Physical education through language: the role of playing in ELT. TPR. - Assessment for learning: different types of assessment. - Health. - Maths and numeracy. - Final evaluation.

At the end of the course, teachers can choose to obtain a certificate of attendance or sit for an exam to obtain credits (GCBA).
