Luciana Fernández
Luciana Fernández is a graduate teacher of English who has been teaching English for the past seventeen years. She has specialized in Methodology and Teaching Practice and she is working on her final thesis for her Licenciatura en Inglés (Universidad Nacional del Litoral). At present she is doing her Diploma in Educational Research for the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education. She is the Head of Foreign Languages at Southern International School and she is a teacher educator. She has designed several courses for professional development and she has given several presentations.
Grades 1 & 2 teachers.

- Get acquainted with research related to reading comprehension. - Pay attention to the different factors that affect reading comprehension. - Learn how to explicitly teach strategies that foster reading comprehension in beginning readers. - See how talking about the text helps. - Learn about useful practices to develop reading comprehension.
- Research on Reading Comprehension.
- Reading strategies. - Reading Comprehension assessment. - Reading Comprehension practices and activities.
In the session participants will:
- Read literature related to the topic.
- See other teachers in action.
- Discuss cases.
- Get acquianted with activities and assessment tools.
