Lucila Dighero

Lucila Dighero holds a Specialist in Education degree (Universidad de San Andrés) & a Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Student Education with ESOL endorsement (Florida International University, U.S.A.). At present, she is an Educational Consultant, pedagogical advisor and teacher trainer at ESSARP, Trinity College London Argentina and educational institutions She is a teacher educator and has designed several courses for profesional development, specializing in dyslexia, other learning and behaviour difficulties, and emotional education. Lucila has an extensive career in leadership roles in several distinguished biligual institutions in Buenos Aires. She lived in the USA for ten years where she gained teaching experience in inclusive education settings at primary and middle levels in public schools in Miami, Florida. She was invited by LAHC (Latin American Heads Conference) to join review teams to carry out institutional reviews in bilingual schools in México, Perú and Chile. She was a member of the ESSARP Think Tank from 2013-2016.

It is usually perceived by Heads and Coordinators that theirs is a “lonely” role. On many occasions, decisions have to be made in isolation, with only a few people to share concerns with.
The objective of “Heads Together” is for Heads/Coordinators to become a Professional Learning Community (PLC) where they have the opportunity to discuss relevant topics with an open mind in a supportive environment that will lead to professional growth.
Topics which Heads/Coordinators have to contend within their schools today (i.e: management, relationship with teachers/parents, bullying, students with learning/ behaviour difficulties, etc).

Research evidence on the topics will be presented, provided by both the facilitator and the participants.

First meeting:
* Getting to know each other.
* Identifying key components of Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
* How schools deal with students who have Learning Disabilities.

Discussion and selection of topics for upcoming sessions.
The facilitator and participants will co-construct the PLC. Presentation of latest research and the background into each theme will lead to the main discussion.
Volunteer participants will discuss how schools deal with these topics and share success stories/best practices that will be inspiring to others.
Varied with each session.
