1. The challenge of teaching IGCSE History remotely: an opportunity in pandemic
Presenter: María José Mansilla
Abstract:This pandemic has presented a great challenge for teachers: it has forced us to redesign all of our teaching habits and strategies in order to adapt them overnight to a remote teaching context.
However, this has also become a great opportunity to transform and empower our teaching skills and our students’ learning experience thanks to the use of web tools and applications. María José will share these tools, which opened the door to a committed IGCSE History learning community.
2. Understanding environmental problems as social issues
Presenter: Florencia Jesús Merino
Abstract: This session will not only consider the content and activities involved in the preparation of international exams, but the development of curiosity through resources such as videos, websites and everyday objects as well. Each activity aims at encouraging students to make connections, reasoning with evidence, drawing conclusions and considering different points of view. Lastly, students are invited to work on a collaborative activity to share their ideas in social media.
